The Wedding Website of Alison Abitbol and Paolo Cogliati
The island of Paros is located in the heart of the Greek Cyclades and is composed of multiple traditional villages, breathtaking landscapes, and beautiful beaches. Alison & Paolo will be staying in the town of Naousa from the 21st of June to the 28th. Once in Paros, Naousa is the recommended town to stay in. When looking for a hotel, we suggest you check your walking distance is within 15-20 min from the restaurant "Barbarossa" on Google Map, as it is the heart of the town. This is the address you can copy and paste in Google Maps for Barbarossa, but typing the name "Barbarossa Naousa" will work too: Limanaki-Naousa Παλιό Λιμάνι Νάουσας, Naousa 844 00, Greece We will have transportation available to the wedding venues on the day of the wedding. More information will follow regarding this via email. Below are travel details on this page, but please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions! We’re so excited to share this beautiful island with you.

A Note About Airplane Tickets

If you are flying from the US, and you also planned to visit other European destinations, it may be cheaper to visit some of those destinations first, as it is often cheaper to fly to Paris / London / Rome from the US rather than going directly to Greece. Then you can fly to Greece for as little as $60 from within Europe. It's also sometimes cheaper to buy individual one-ways rather than bundling. For example NYC > Athens / Athens > Paros. We are also sometimes able to reduce our flight cost by 45%+ by finding flights that have Greece as a layover - and simply not taking the next flights to the final destination. *Skiplagged is a good website for this.* Other sites we use to find cheaper combinations are kiwi.com / google flights / and the usual kayak etc. If you have any questions, reach out to us any time.

An Important Tip

An important tip before we dive into travel details. If you live outside of Europe, we *really* reccomend buying a temporary travel SIM card with roaming data. Even if you believe your phone company will cover you, it's $18, keep your life simple and get it just in case! The link below is the SIM card we always buy on Amazon. Activate it a few days before you leave your home country.

How To Get To Paros

To get to Paros you essentially have two options. 1) Fly to Athens, Mykonos, or Santorini, and then get a local flight to Paros. 2) Fly to Athens, Mykonos, or Santorini and then take a ferry. Note: You can take a ferry from almost any island in Greece and go to Paros, but we are considering international travel. The ferry from Athens will take 3.5 hours and cost about $50 per person. The ferry from Mykonos will take 1.5 hours and cost about $20 per person. Ferries run all year round, multiple times a day. Tickets can be booked in advance, but no need to book earlier than 3 months as ferry timetables won't be available. Ferries don't run out of tickets available for purchase. Warning : If you land too late in the day, you might miss the last ferry of the day. Warning : Most Taxis are cash only. So have some euros with you. You can access Athens internationally, and Mykonos or Santorini from anywhere inside Europe. OUR SUGGESTION : Paolo & Alison recommend flying to Mykonos and then taking a Ferry for the following reasons : • Mykonos is a beautiful greek island worth a couple of days if you've never been. • From the town's port, you can take a boat taxi for $4 to the Ferry terminal. If you prefer to get the ferry right away, you can take a 10 min taxi from the airport for $15. • The boat ride is only 1.5 hours, and the boats are large with restaurants and air conditioning. • Mykonos is a famous party island, enjoy the night life, or watch the sunset by it's famous windmills! NOTE : All boats will arrive in Paros in the town of PARIKIA (*not* Naousa). Once you arrive, you can either take a taxi for $15, or you can take a bus for $2. The bus ride to Naousa is 25 minutes, and a new bus leaves every 15-20min. There is space for large luggage, it's a very comfortable ride, and the last stop is where you get off! I'm putting a lot of information to be thorough, but it's actually all very relaxed and seamless. The link below has more info.

Flight

Option 1

We believe flying to Mykonos is going to be more relaxing than flying to Athens, as you are dealing with a small (but touristy) seaside village rather than the capital of Greece. It's a very international island, almost everyone will speak English! When you land : • If you plan to stay a few nights, have a taxi take you to "Manto Mavrogenous Square". No cars are allowed into the town, the driver will drop you off as close as possible. • If you are going directly to the ferry terminal, have a taxi take you to "Mykonos New Port". Feel free to specify you are taking a ferry. If it helps, download this picture to show the taxi driver the ferry terminal : https://santorinidave.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/mykonos-new-port.png The below link shows you a video montage of Mykonos > Naousa and goes into even more detail.

Flight

Option 2

You can fly to Athens directly from most international airports. You then have two options. Fly to Paros, or take a ferry to Paros. Flying: You can take a local flight from Athens to Paros which runs several times a day. The flight is about 40 minutes. You can then take a taxi 30 min taxi to Naousa. Ferry: Once you have arrived in Athens, another option is to take the ferry to Paros. Athens has 3 different ports: Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrion. Book your ferry ticket online and go to the right port! Warning: It can take 50 min depending on traffic to arrive to the port of Piraeus from the Athens airport. So double-check your landing time, and commute time to make sure you have time to catch the ferry. It takes on average 3.5 hours to get to Paros from Athens by ferry. The ferries are comfortable, and you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy some scenic views. They cost approx 50EUR for each direction. Tickets can be booked in advance, but no need to book earlier than 3 months as ferry timetables won't be available. The link below has more resources.

Getting To Naousa

All ferries to Paros will drop you off in the port of Parikia. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but if you explore its streets it's a really scenic town definitely worth exploring! Upon exiting the ferry, walk to your right where large coach buses are parked. This is the main island bus. You can Google Map "Paroikia Intercity Bus Terminal", it is a 2 min walk. https://santorinidave.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/paros-port-bus.jpeg https://santorinidave.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/paros-bus-near-ferry-from-athens.jpeg For 2 EUR it will take you directly to Naousa in 25 min. Buses leave every 15-20 min and can fit your luggage. https://santorinidave.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/paros-bus-station-buying-tickets.jpeg You will get off at the final stop, which is the "Naousa Bus Stop" https://santorinidave.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/paros-naoussa-bus-stop.jpeg For more clarity on the bus, visit this link: https://santorinidave.com/paros-bus For alternative methods (taxi etc) check out the link below!

Hotel Accessibility Map & List

HOTELS! Please take a look at this list we compiled for you. It has many hotels, arranged by affordability, as well as some maps and tips we made for you to explain where you should be located. Click on the button below to see this information.

Rental Car

K&K Car Rentals

KK Car Rental is conveniently located near your ferry exit in Paros. Use CODE: WP (WeddingParos) to get 15% discount on all car hires. We actually reccomend renting a Quad/ATV in Naousa. They are the most popular method of transportation on the island. The roads are safe, and they are very fun! Also you can take them on sand and get closer to the beach. More info about that in our "Things to Do" section. PARKING INFO Parking is generally free and most accommodation has a parking area. It is also very safe.
