FAQs

Question

How do I R.S.V.P? When should I respond by?

Answer

Please RSVP using the tab in the header by August 1st so that we can give our venue a headcount. If unforeseen circumstances occur and you need to change your response, please reach out to us as soon as possible!

Question

Can I bring an additional guest?

Answer

If your invite includes a +1, yes! You will have an option to fill out their info in the RSVP form.

Question

Can my child/children come?

Answer

We love your kids, but the wedding may not be enjoyable for them as we have catered the event towards adults. However, we do not want a lack of childcare to prevent your attendance; please reach out to us so that we may try to accommodate the whole family.

Question

Is there parking for the venue?

Answer

Yes! The Charming Estate has parking available, but please note, the multi-level parking is unusable due to a recent event. Parking is free. Please be aware when you leave that it can be quite dark, so watch your step on your way back. If you choose to drive, we ask that you drink responsibly.

Question

Is there transportation to and from Waikiki?

Answer

We'll be providing a shuttle to the venue from Waikiki and back. Details on pickup and drop-off can be found on the Travel page. Please respond in your RSVP whether you will need to use the shuttle, even if you anticipate only needing it one-way. We've tried to broadly accommodate as many people as possible, but we apologize if the times and/or pickup location do not work for you. Luckily, our venue location is not very remote so alternatives such as Lyft and Uber should be available should you need to leave early.

Question

Is there a room block for hotels?

Answer

We have found that many hotels offer better individual deals than we were able to get with room blocks. We encourage you to keep an eye on accommodations well in advance. Our date is shortly after summer tourism season, but Hawaiʻi receives a high volume of visitors year-round. If you are looking at alternative accommodations, please be aware that short-term vacation rentals (AirBNB, Vrbo, etc.) are not allowed on most of Oʻahu island for less than 30 days. Any listings that you find outside of Waikiki should be met with extreme skepticism.

Question

Is the venue indoors or outdoors?

Answer

We are excited to have the ceremony outdoors in the beautiful Koʻolau Mountains. This area can get rainy, so we have the option to move indoors pending weather. The cocktail hour and reception will be indoors.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Please dress in Aloha Formal or Cocktail attire. For men, this may be dress shirts or Aloha shirts with slacks and dress shoes. Jackets are optional, it may be warm outside. Ladies might wear nice cocktail dresses or light, flowy maxi dresses.

Question

Can we take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We would deeply appreciate if you could have your phones away during the ceremony. However, we fully encourage you to take your own photos during the cocktail hour and reception! We're hosting a shared album where our guests can upload their own photos of the wedding, so please look for the link in the gallery tab. We'd love for everyone to contribute unique memories to our special day!

Question

What will be served?

Answer

We will have light appetizers during the cocktail hour followed by buffet-style dinner service. If you have meal restrictions, please let us know in your RSVP so that we can accommodate you!

Question

Is there an open bar?

Answer

There is indeed! Non-alcoholic options are available as well. Our venue has a strict no outside alcohol policy, so please make good use of the open bar instead! If driving to the venue, please drink responsibly.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

We are not doing a registry. Instead, we have an optional cash fund towards our dream of home ownership in the Registry tab. If you would prefer to give cash or check, we will have a card box at the reception. Please note that you are not obligated to contribute! We realize that many of you will have to travel a long way and we're simply grateful if you can attend. If you choose to contribute, we truly and deeply appreciate any amount.
