Best Man
I'm not entirely sure how to describe our relationship. Best friends, college roommates, high school sweethearts (sorry Shelby, you know I was first), and a lot of other things I probably shouldn't say. Let's just say when I asked Jess what word first came to mind when she thought of Daniel, she said, "handsy." He makes my life way more fun and I couldn't have asked for a better friend.
Groomsman
Abe and I first started hanging out during a leadership development class at our church (when he would actually show up). There are few people I enjoy talking to more, few people who know me better. We've been the last people in a restaurant on multiple occasions, getting lost talking about anything ranging from obscure sports debates to deep theological stuff. I've learned so much from him on what it looks like to suffer well and trust in God even when it seems like life is falling apart.
Groomsman
If it weren't for Tacodeli and the never ending quest to find the perfect golf swing, Jackson and I probably wouldn't be friends. No one else brings more excitement or drama into my life, and I absolutely love it. There's really nothing Jackson can't do, except hit a consistent draw. He's the best putter I know though.
Groomsman
Jason and I didn't know a whole lot about each other when we first started living together but realized very quickly we'd be real good friends the first time we ended up on the dance floor together. There's no one who is more fun to be around, no one who I enjoy beating more at ping pong, and no one who encourages me to just be me as much as him. He also runs like a fairy on the soccer field, but seeing as how he's also the best soccer player I've ever known, I guess that works for him.
Groomsman
The contrarian. He would argue that he isn't, which proves he is. He's also probably the smartest person I know. I'll be forever grateful that he asked me to live with him, Zach, and Jason all those years ago. We've run with bulls, snowmobiled glaciers, and speed boated through fjords. There isn't a more loyal friend.
Groomsman
Mark and I first became friends in high school spanish when we had to make a short film and he couldn't remember any of his lines, which meant we had to spend a lot of hours together taping. From driving to high school football games rocking out to jock jams to watching his kids at church on Sundays to endless Rush Hour quotes, I'm incredibly thankful for his life-long friendship. Want any fives with that?
Groomsman
Rich owns a flip phone, sends a Christmas letter every year, doesn't have any social media accounts, and lives on a farm. He's an old and wise soul, a loyal friend, and makes you feel like the funniest person on earth. He taught me how to deep snap a football, helped keep me awake during really boring college classes, and is the most responsible friend I've ever had.
Groomsman
Zach is the clumsiest smooth human being I know. I've seen this guy trip over his own two feet walking up the stairs, but also seen him be the best skater at the roller rink. He's wise, insightful, a great dresser, and one of the godliest men I know. He and his wife Cathy will have the cutest babies ever.
Maid of Honor
We bonded in a parking garage during a rainstorm in grad school and haven't stopped laughing since. She tells me the things I need to hear when I need to hear them. There's no one else who shares my interest in all things related to serial killers, cults, and the TV show "Playing House".
Bridesmaid
I met Adrian about 8 years ago when I joined her Missional Community at church. Since then, we've lived together on three separate occasions, have eaten countless pizzas from Sarpino's together, shared tears, and laughed a LOT together. This girl seems quiet, but once you get her going.... She loves people FULLY, loves God with all of her being, and writes amazing notes expressing how she feels (because she'd rather do that than tell me to my face). So excited to share this special day with her next to me, as she's been there through nearly all of my Austin days.
Bridesmaid
I don't know if you'll meet a wiser woman than Bess. She has guided me in life decisions countless times, and spurs me on to good things. We share a love of all things romantical, caring for kids from hard places, and two-stepping. She's the only friend I have a song with. Silverrrrr wiiiiingssssss.
Bridesmaid
I think I met Debbye the first day of undergrad at Indiana Wesleyan. She and her twin, Becki, asked me to come be their friend and would include me in everything- even though I was a huge dork. This woman has suffered well, and had an everlasting joy through it all that can only be attributed to her faith in Christ. So happy to have her joyful spirit to celebrate this special day with me.
Bridesmaid
Jenny will be traveling all the way from East Asia to come celebrate this day with us!!!! In September 2017, Chris and I visited her and her husband, Rob, and their little baby Zack, and had the absolute best time. I have no other friend who is more encouraging than Jenny. She is a cheerleader that I so desperately need in my life. Thankful for her enormous love for me, and her incredibly tender heart.
Bridesmaid
I met Summer when I signed up for my first year of Goer Missional Community. First time I met her, I KNEW we'd be amazing friends. Summer's joy and zest for life is infectious. You'd can't help but absorb some of the joy oozing out of her. Thankful for her to stand by my side, as I just stood by hers a few months ago when she got married!
Bridesmaid
This girl. For the past two years, during our time doing Goer Missional Community life together, there's no one else that I saw more often or engaged in daily life with. This woman loves the Lord, follows hard after Him, and lives out the Great Commission each day. So incredibly proud to call this kale-eating, essential oil diffusing, paraben-free girl my friend.
Bridesmaid
I first met Vanessa in second grade at church. Fast forward to my first day at Stevenson High School and guess who's sitting down at the lunch table my "buddy" has chosen? She's one of my oldest friends, extremely loyal, and an incredibly hard worker. I love grabbing Indian food with her to talk deep and surface level things. I've loved watching her grow these past 20 years. This girl loves her friends and would do anything for them.
Officiant
Stephen was our campus pastor at the Austin Stone Community Church. I know of few people who are as knowledgeable about Scripture than him and we always look forward to when he preaches on Sundays.
Flower Girl
There's about a 10% chance Lex walks down the aisle without any prodding. She's smart and cunning enough to know that if you're going to get asked to do something, it's not going to be for free. She's as independent, intelligent, and hilarious as you can get for a toddler and being her "unchle tris" is one of the coolest roles I've ever gotten to have.
