Canal Walk

Canal Walk, Richmond, VA

Richmond's Canal Walk features art, restaurants, and four centuries of Virginia state capital's history. You can enjoy a walk, bike ride, or a riverfront cruise along the canal. Located along downtown’s riverfront, the Canal Walk stretches 1.25 miles along the James River and Kanawha and Haxall Canals, and has access points at nearly every block between 5th and 17th streets. Fun fact: When Chip ran his first Richmond half marathon, Laura walked the Canal Walk from their apartment to go see him at the finish line.

Chimborazo Park

3215 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23223

Chimborazo Park lies in Richmond’s Church Hill neighborhood. Richmond acquired the land for the park in 1874. The Richmond National Battlefield Park Association moved its headquarters to Chimborazo Park in 1958. The park was once the location of the Chimborazo Hospital, the largest Confederate hospital during the Civil War. Fun Fact: Chimborazo Park is one of Chip and Laura's favorite place to go to eat dinner. When the weather is nice, they will cook dinner together, pack it up, and drive to the park to enjoy a nice evening together.
