GETTING AROUND TOWN

Crans is easily walkable end-to-end, and there is a free shuttle service throughout the resort (see link below). It's very easy to use! Guests staying at the SIX SENSES and the HOTEL ROYAL have access to the free hotel shuttle, including transfers to / from Montana Gare. Please inquire directly with the hotel to book your rides. For guests staying at ALAIA or an AIRBNB, we recommend booking a taxi to / from your lodging (info below). Credit cards accepted. Please book in advance, as August is the busy season. Train

TAKING THE TRAIN

Crans-Montana is one of the only Swiss ski resorts that you can access entirely by train, no car needed! Download the SBB app and choose MONTANA GARE as your final destination; Montana Gare is the top of the funicular, which drops you off directly in the Crans-Montana resort. You'll get on the funicular at the bottom of the mountain, in a town called Sierre. DRIVING

The drive to Crans-Montana is stunning, with the option to stop along the way in towns like Chamonix, Montreux, and Lausanne. Note that an international driver’s license is required for non-European license holders, and that the final part of the drive is up a few mountain switchbacks.

Flight

FLYING INTO GENEVA

Flying into Geneva is the easiest way to get to Crans-Montana (but not by much — Zurich is also very easy!). Take the train from Geneva Airport to Sierre (2h 10m), no transfer necessary. From there, you will take a 15 minute funicular up the mountain to Montana Gare — all part of the adventure! See the final FAQ for train booking tips!

Flight

FLYING INTO ZURICH

Flying into Zurich is another great option — and probably the best option for most flights from the US, since it has several non-stop flights from most US cities, typically at lower prices vs. Geneva. Take the train from Zurich Airport to Sierre (2h 40m), with one very easy transfer at Visp (transfer is directly across the platform). From there, you will take a 15 minute funicular up the mountain to Montana Gare — all part of the adventure! See the final FAQ for train booking tips!

ZURICH MUSIC FESTIVAL

Saturday, August 9 is Street Parade in Zurich, the world's largest techno festival, with close to 1 million attendees descending onto the (small) city. Unless you’re hoping to attend a techno festival, we *strongly recommend* avoiding Zurich that weekend. Flying out of the Zurich airport will be fine, but attempting to spend time in the city would be very complicated.
