Our Story

John and Pam first met at DeBary Elementary where Pam was teaching 5th grade and John was a math tutor. They built a casual friendship as they prepared the 5th grade students for pre-algebra. John soon moved to North Carolina and Pam continued to teach at DeBary Elementary. Years later, John moved back to Florida and on a whim invited Pam for coffee after school at Beachie Beans. Having not seen each other for many years there was lots to catch up on. Hours later, the barista finally told them they could stay if they’d like however, she was locking up and they could just leave the coffee cups on the table outside. A few days later, realizing he still had more to say, John invited Pam to JB’s for a relaxing dinner by the water. Pam needed to see if John really had staying power. There was only one way to find out if this relationship was worth pursuing. Pam invited John on a date to see the Detroit Tigers play the Tampa Bay Rays at a Spring Training Game. Not only did John go to the game, he also traded in is New York Yankees hat for a brand-new Detroit Tigers hat and the rest was history. The Tiger’s hat now has a prominent place on the shelf as John reconciles his love for the Yankees with his love for Pam. Now it was John’s turn to see what Pam was really made of. The only way to know if she had what it took was to take her on a 5-week camping trip (mostly in a tent) from FL-CA. Pam passed with flying colors as she refused to suggest getting a hotel when it was 102°F in Texas. Fortunately, John thought better of tempting fate and sprang for the hotel. John and Pam continued to make many happy memories with friends and family. Two and a half years later while walking on the beach, John dropped to one knee and asked Pam to marry him. It is with our family and friends that we not only look forward to celebrating our wedding day but continuing to create a lifetime of memories.
