Travel Note
The official unit of currency is the Argentinian Peso (ARS). Given the current financial situation in Argentina there are alternative exchange rates in addition to the official currency rate. We suggest for you to bring USD Cash. By using USD cash you save up +50% vs. paying with your foreign credit card. Additionally, 100 USD bills are converted at a better rate than smaller figure bills. (Note: old USD bills are not accepted by most exchange rates or commerces). Finally, when purchasing goods or services, specify that you’ll pay cash and most likely you’ll get a 10% discount.
Travel Note
• Ride-sharing apps: Uber and Cabify work in Argentina, download the apps, and choose cash as payment method. • Taxis: Official taxis are painted in yellow and black. Taxis in Buenos Aires are obliged by law to use the meter. Take into account that most taxis in Buenos Aires only accept cash. • Public Transport: Buy a contactless SUBE-card in a metro station, kiosko or train station. Top up the card with cash. This can be done at the purchase location or in stores with a sign “Carga SUBE Aqui”. - Subway: The underground system has 6 lines, with good connections to Palermo, Recoleta, and Microcentro. Weekdays: 5:30am until 23:30 at night. Saturdays: until midnight. Sundays: 8:00am until 22:30. - Buses: We suggest downloading the “Transit” app for your phone: https://transitapp.com

House Or Rental
We highly recommend AirBnb's as an accommodation option. Additionally, we also recommend Top Rentals (www.toprentals.com.ar) a company that offers temporary rental apartments in various neighborhoods across town. Buenos Aires is a wonderful city full of architecture, amazing restaurants, shops, and culture on every corner. Our favorite neighborhoods to stay and visit are Palermo, Recoleta, Puerto Madero, Belgrano and Nuñez. You can find more information on restaurants, bars, shops and culture in the "Things to Do" section.
