Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Paige Duncan and Spiros Stamatopoulos
With people traveling from various destinations, we want to make sure your time in Crete is a memorable one! Crete holds a special place in our hearts; therefore, we want to share some local places and actives for you to explore during your visit. The island is packed full of delicious food, fun adventures and incredible beaches! If time allows, we would highly recommend taking some additional time to explore the island. Please see below for some recommendations.
Old Venetian Harbor

Old Venetian Harbor

Rethimno, Greece

Rethymno is the third largest city in Crete. It enchants all visitors with its charming streets and historic landmarks. The Old Town is known for its beautiful old-world harbor and delicious food. We would recommend exploring the popular port, with its ample shops and restaurants!

Sunset Cruise

Sunset Cruise

What better way to spend the evening than sipping and sailing?! The port of Rethymno offers countless boating excursions, and if time allows during your stay, we would recommend taking full advantage! See link below for a highly-rated sunset cruise, which comes with complimentary cheese and wine. The excursion is offered in both Greek and English.

Olive Oil Tasting

Olive Oil Tasting

If you know us at all, then you would know that our dream is to one day run a bed-and-breakfast on an olive orchard in Greece; allowing travelers from all around the world to experience the rich taste and learn about the enriching culture of olive oil production. Therefore, another local recommendation would be to check out the local mill and taste all the amazing Cretan olive oils. See link below for a highly-rated tour.

Beaches

Beaches

Crete is known for many things, especially its BEACHES! We can vouch that they are some of the most beautiful in the world! Check out the link provided for some of the top beaches around the island, keeping in mind you will need a car to get to them.

Culinary Experience

Culinary Experience

Greece

Crete is an island rich in culinary culture, with ample restaurants that showcase fresh seafood from the Mediterranean sea, and celebrate local ingredients that make the food scene of Crete unlike any other. Visit the link provided for a few highly-rated local restaurant recommendations in Rethymno.

Manousakis Winery

Manousakis Winery

Vatolakkos, 730 05, Greece

This winery is located a bit outside of Rethymno, but we would highly recommend visiting the Manousakis Winery, a popular winery in the southern part of Crete. It will require a bit of a drive from Rethymno, but if you're a wine connoisseur, it would be worth the trip. Make sure to make your reservations plenty in advance!
