Peter and Paige met in Austin, TX through Tinder in a modern day love story. Their first date was at Bar Second where they found commonality in their passion for environmental sustainability, fitness, and the outdoors. Paige introduced Peter to roller derby and Peter introduced Paige to traveling. Nearly a month after, Peter arrived at Paige's with flowers and formerly asked Paige to be his girlfriend.
After a year and a half of dating, Peter moved to the northeast to pursue the Wharton and Harvard Kennedy School duel MBA/MPA degree, a three year program split between Philadelphia and Boston. The two made the long-distance relationship work by meeting in destination locations and committing to daily calls. Memorable trips included stays in Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Venice, Florence, Santorini, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, California, Miami, D.C., Charleston, Colorado, and Maine. Peter graduated in May of 2019 and landed a job in Boston at Clean Energy Ventures. Paige joined Peter shortly after, finding a job as an Environmental Planner at HNTB. The two have joyfully settled into this new chapter of life together - Peter has excelled as a pet owner and Paige has accepted the LeBron James and Rafael Nadal. They enjoy surfing when the waves are good, hiking when it's warm enough, and exploring other new activities available in Boston during COVID.
Shortly after Paige moved to Boston, Peter sneakily lured her back to Austin under the guise of a convenient work trip, which it really was. Paige was thrilled to learn the weekend lined up perfectly with her former roller derby team's first bout of the season. The weekend was a blast from the beginning, kicking off with visits to close friends and favorite hangout spots. Peter surprised Paige with a stay the the Driskill, their favorite historic hotel in Austin, and dinner at the Roaring Fork, an upscale Texas steakhouse. After dinner, Peter suggested a walk to the Texas Capitol. At the steps of the grand building, he got down on one knee and proposed. Afterwards, the couple shared their joy by calling family and celebrating with Paige's childhood friend at the location of their first date.
