Le Pietre Vive - truffle hunting, restaurant, and farm

The truffle hunts take place in the woods just above the farm. Outside the farm house/restaurant we meet up with the truffle hunters and wonderful dogs and proceed on foot. The hunt usually lasts 1 to 2h depending on weather and luck of the hunt! It is necessary go truffle hunting early morning, around 8:30 am or late afternoon about 17:30- 18:00. The cost varies on the season and kind of truffle but the base is ~€85/person. Children <12 are half price. Tasting session with fresh truffle crostini, tasters of local produce and a glass of our Chianti Colli Senese wine: €25/person. After a morning hunt it is also possible to do a cooking class at 10:30 (price for hunt, truffle menu cooking class, and lunch €220 or €130–145 class only). Or we can book you a dinner table here at the farm house to try some delicious truffle-based dishes.

See also: Monte Argentario. - Porto Santo Stefano & Porto Ercole: On the Argentario Peninsula, these towns provide dramatic coastal views, ferry access, and excellent seafood. - Castiglione della Pescaia: Popular, charming seaside town with sandy beaches and a medieval hilltop center. - Orbetello: Located in the middle of a lagoon, offering a unique coastal environment. - Capalbio: Near the coast and known for the nearby "Tarot Garden" (Giardino dei Tarocchi). Easily accessible for a day trip to the sea while based in the Siena countryside. The coast in this area is often referred to as the Silver Coast (Costa D'Argento).
