I met Victoria a few days into freshman year at Providence College. Despite being tall and handsome, she didn't quite see the appeal. Rome wasn't built in a day anyways. Going into the 2nd semester of sophomore year, I decided to try my luck once more. I found myself playing Roulette at Twin River Casino, down to my last $5. I called Victoria and asked what her favorite number was. #6. "If it wins, we go on a date to Massimo's with the winnings, deal?" I proposed. "You're so desperate but good luck" she said. Fate, divine providence, whatever you want to call it, was on my side that night. Black #6 wins. Later that week, I found myself at Massimo Restaurant drinking espresso martinis with the most beautiful date in town. The rest is history. I officially asked her out on June 14, 2018. Eight years later to the day— June 14, 2026 — we’ll kick off our wedding festivities. I guess #6 was lucky after all.
