Where and when should I plan on arriving in Nigeria?

Answer

You will be arriving in Lagos, Nigeria. The airport code is LOS. We are planning an open house gathering on 7/24 where we can all eat, drink and be merry. Additionally, I am organizing a day trip to Yolo Island Beach Resort (the place where I said "YES!") on 7/23. It will cost $55 per person. The cost includes round trip boat ride to the resort, access to the resort, a buffet and a cocktail. Full restaurant and bar available at the resort. If you are interested, please forward payment to myself or Chikezie via Zelle or Venmo. Capacity 50.

Do I need a visa to enter Nigeria?

Answer

Unless you are a Nigerian or ECOWAS citizen, a visa is required to enter Nigeria. Nigerian Tourist Visa You can apply for a tourist visa online at https://visa.immigration.gov.ng. If you are in the United States, you will need to make an appointment to visit a Nigerian embassy in Atlanta, New York City or Washington D.C. For those in Trinidad and Tobago, It appears that due to an existing agreement with Nigeria and T&T, your visa is on gratis basis and no fee will be charged. You MAY be required to still pay a processing fee at the embassy in Port of Spain. Nigerian Visa on Arrival I am happy to organize a Visa on Arrival which is completed remotely. The cost of the visa is $160. The processing fee is $50. The total cost is $210. If you are a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago, you will only need to pay for the processing fee. If you are interested in Visa on Arrival, please forward your passport biographical page, a passport photograph and your travel itinerary to ooca2025@gmail.com. Once you've booked your flight, we can begin the Visa on Arrival process on your behalf. All documents and payment will be due once we start the process. Applications received after June 10th, 2025 will not be processed.

What do I do about transportation in Nigeria?

We will organize airport pick up and drop off as well as transportation to and from the wedding venue. Please submit your travel itinerary onto the google sheets by May 31st, 2025 so we can make arrangements. This shuttle service applies only to those staying at Maroko Bayshore Suites. Where can I stay in Nigeria?

Answer

We have made arrangements with Maroko Bayshore Suites which is in close proximity to the wedding venue. It is also very centrally located. Please contact Maria via email or WhatsApp to make your reservation. Her email is maria.raffoul@bdsuites.com. Her phone number is +234-904-816-6888. The discounted rate with be N105000 ($65) for a standard suite and N140000 ($87) for an executive suite. Please note that the USD price is the conversion rate as of today (4/25/25) and is subject to change. Payment will be due on arrival to the hotel via cash, credit card or bank transfer. Please mention "Yimika and Chike Wedding" to receive the discounted rate. Other hotel options include Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel and Oriental Hotel. If you'd like other hotel options, please reach out to me directly. I would advise against booking AirBnB until I've been able to review the area.

What should I wear?

Answer

There will be a traditional Nigerian engagement as well as a white wedding. The colour for guests of the bride will be burgundy and the colour for the guests of the groom will be blue.

How do I pay for things in Nigeria?

Answer

The currency used in Nigeria is Naira. You can exchange USD to Naira at the hotel or the Bureau de Change at the airport. You can also use your credit card at the exchange rate of your credit card company. Foreign transaction fees may apply.
