It’s no secret we met at work more than five years ago! Ben says he remembers exactly what Jamie was wearing the day he met her. Jamie’s first memory of Ben was him needing first aid after he almost sliced his finger off with a drywall knife (something that has become very normal). We ultimately became best friends and the romance slowly blossomed into our forever. Our first date was at King Cajun Crawfish, in downtown Orlando where we had on gloves and bibs, got messy eating crab legs and tried to be coy eating corn on the cob. Ben said he wanted to get the awkward and mess out of the way quickly. We then played pool at a local pool hall and laughed all night long. We’ve been inseparable since that day, and still work together.

On 1/14/2023, Ben asked Jamie to marry him after months of planning. He spent hours at the ring store designing and picking out every stone in her ring. He said he knew she was the one after he was incredibly sick and she came over every day to take care of him and check on him, even taking him to the hospital and sitting with him all day. The big day happened when Ben took Jamie to their their favorite place, New Smyrna Beach, for “drinks” before her birthday dinner reservations with Jake and Taylor Overman. Little did Jamie know, as they walked down the beach, Mama Overman was looking on (in full disguise) and taking pictures of this amazing moment. Ben dropped to one knee, expressed his love and asked for forever. We’re eternally grateful to the Overman family for capturing and being part of that special moment. Fun fact: Ben’s brother, Jake also had Mama Overman dress in disguise and capture his proposal to his wife Taylor the year before… Mama has become a pro!
