“The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began.” —Bilbo Baggins, Lord of the Rings We met in 2022 while working at a turtle conservation breeding center, where our days were spent caring for turtles and learning the rhythms of animal husbandry. What started as shared shifts and conversations in between feedings and enclosures quickly turned into a genuine connection. We discovered a shared love not only for nature and the slithering, hopping, and crawling creatures of the world, but also for the everyday joys that make life rich—cooking good meals, tending a garden, enjoying a good cup of coffee, and heading outside for any kind of adventure. From those early days surrounded by cute shelled wildlife ambassadors, our relationship grew into something much bigger. Alexander proposed on May 7, 2026 in front of Wisconsin's highest waterfall, Big Manitou Falls. We’re so happy to be celebrating this next chapter together.
