Rental Car
This is the only door-to-door option and the most convenient choice for reaching the resort, which is located on a cliffside slightly outside the main town. - Route: Take the A2 highway south to the Algarve, then switch to the A22 (Via do Infante) and take exit 6 for Lagoa. Follow signs for Carvoeiro. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the highway exit. - Time: Approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes. - Cost: Roughly €25–€30 in tolls (one way) + fuel.
Train
If you prefer the comfort of a train, you should travel to the Tunes station. While there is a smaller local station closer to the hotel (Estômbar-Lagoa), it requires a slow regional transfer. Taking the high-speed train to Tunes and grabbing a cab from there is faster and smoother. - Route: Take the Alfa Pendular (high-speed) or Intercidades train from Lisbon's Oriente to Tunes. - The Final Leg: From Tunes station, take a taxi or Uber directly to Tivoli Carvoeiro. - Total Time: ~3 hours (train) + 30 minutes (taxi/drive). - Cost: Train tickets are ~€22–€30; the final taxi ride will be more expensive, likely around €25–€35 due to the longer distance (28 km).
Travel Note
The bus is an excellent option because the main bus hub in Lagoa is very close to the hotel. Unlike the train, which leaves you further away, the bus gets you within a 10-minute ride of the lobby. - Route: Take a Rede Expressos or FlixBus from Lisbon (Sete Rios or Oriente stations) to Lagoa (Terminal Rodoviário) - The Final Leg: From the Lagoa bus terminal, take a taxi or Uber to the hotel. It is a short 10-minute drive (approx. 5 km). - Total Time: ~3.5 to 4 hours (bus) + 10 mins (taxi). - Cost: Bus tickets range from €8–€20; the final taxi ride is ~€6–€10.
