It was November 6th, 2021. They went to a social mixer in New York. When COVID happened, Sevan shut down his event business and stopped going to all events. Shocker, considering that he is not paranoid or cautious at all ;) But after nearly two years of isolation, and living in a cabin in Colorado with bears, something that day told him to go to this random event in New York and meet humans again. When he got there, he realized it was crowded and he was too anxious to socialize. It had been so long. So instead, he went to the corner and did what most man do at bars. He closed his eyes and meditated in the corner to try to ground himself, not concerned with what he looked like. Little did he know that during those few moments, Nicole walked in by herself. She saw all the people, but then noticed an interesting man in the corner with his eyes closed, breathing. That was a unique sight, especially in that setting, and it immediately stood out to her. She knew she wanted to talk to Sevan. Fifteen minutes later, a fire performance began. By pure fate, Sevan and Nicole ended up standing next to each other. It is no coincidence that their love story began by the fire. And that fire has been burning ever since. They began a conversation that lasted for six hours and grew deeper and more philosophical with each passing moment. They were inseparable, fascinated by each other’s quick wit. Nicole was thinking to herself, “Wow, this is the funniest man I’ve ever met.” Sevan was thinking, “Wow, I can’t believe I met someone who actually thinks I’m funny.” At the end of the night, Sevan asked Nicole if she wanted him to walk with her to their cars. Sevan was a gentleman, with no ulterior motives for the evening. Not even a kiss. They exchanged numbers and hugged goodbye. As they pulled away, Nicole leaned back against the light pole behind her and gave a look that said, “Are you going to kiss me already?” Sevan, caught off guard, happily stepped into the moment. After six hours of conversation, you might expect a passionate kiss. Instead, there was a sweet gentleness. A contrasting softness between two strong personalities. As they headed home, they both had the biggest smiles on their faces. They knew something big had just happened, but little did they know just how big. What made the night even more magical was that it was daylight savings time at 2 a.m., just as they were leaving. Since that day, Sevan has told Nicole that he has been quite literally “adding light” to his life since the day they met. This is why Sevan chose the eclipse to propose. He wanted to give her light back and present her with the biggest "ring" the Universe can provide. Their story was always one written in the stars. They are now parents to a beautiful child named Lucy Adaline Poetry. Together, they are a family who are happy, filled with love, and excited for the future.
