Friends & Family, We have decided to postpone our wedding. This was a heartbreaking decision to make, but not nearly as heartbreaking as the idea of not celebrating with all of our loved ones. We apologize for any inconvenience and are looking forward to celebrating with you all on our new date. Mark your calendars for June 12th, 2021!
Many years ago Chris & Ashley grew up across the street from each other. From Catechism classes in elementary school together and Ashley's family taking Chris to middle school, to their first date in Beaver Creek, CO and driving 3 hours every weekend to see each other, we have finally made it to the wedding! Chris FINALLY asked Ashley on their first date in September of 2018, from there they knew the rest was history. Ashley quickly fell in love with Chris's kind heart, his genuine personality, how undeniably smart he is and his love for the Lord. She knew after that first date he was the one. Chris also quickly fell in love with Ashley, her down-to-earth nature, her loving heart, and dedication to the things that matter most. With their common background and hometown, they quickly found countless similarities and found a genuine connection on many levels. It came naturally to embrace these connections to one another's true self. This formed a solid foundation between the two of them, that they knew would last the test of time.
With the leaves changing color and hunting season quickly approaching, Chris was trying to figure out a way to truly surprise Ashley with the proposal. Chris and Ashley's brother Colton devised a way to catch Ashley off-guard. After work on a Monday, Chris nervously asked Ashley to join him and Colton on a quick Elk scouting trip, in the mountains west of town. Unfortunately, Ashley declined, not knowing the true purpose of the trip. The same happened the following day. By Wednesday, Chris once again desperately asked Ashley to come along. She finally accepted. Shortly after arriving, coaxing Ashley out into the cold, Chris pointed out an orange unidentified object, on a distant hillside. He setup the spotting scope focused on the object, for further investigation. Ashley then took a closer look at the mysterious orange shape, through the spotting scope, which revealed that the shape was actually a large orange sign, held up by Colton in the distance, which had the message "Will you marry me?" written on it. In the crisp fall sunset, surrounded by yellow trembling Aspens, Ashley happily accepted Chris' proposal.
