Sidewinders is a recent addition to Bozeman, but already a fast favorite! They have a massive list of draft beer and an excellent selection of American style cuisine. Our favorite munchie is their spinach artichoke dip!
We frequent Old Chicago's happy hour! It is every day from 4-6 (with a late night from 10-11), and ALL appetizers are 50% off, as well as ALL drinks! Holy cow, right!? We never spend more than $30 on a couple apps and a couple drinks each during happy hour!
Yellowstone! What more is there to say. The Mammoth entrance to the park is about an hour and a half from Bozeman. A 1 week pass will run you $35. Once you're there (and even on the drive over) take it all in. This is one of the most beautiful places on earth, full of wildlife and incredible sights. Make sure you visit Yellowstone Canyon/Falls, there's nothing quite like it! Above all, BE SAFE! Stay aware while you're driving and DO NOT approach the wildlife. People die every year mistaking this park for a petting zoo.
The Museum of the Rockies is absolutely awesome. It's a bit pricy to get in ($15 per adult, $10 per child) but the museum houses the WORLDS LARGEST collection of Dinosaur bones and fossils; including a full T-Rex!
Ale-works has long been one of our favorite restaurants in Bozeman. The mother of the Bride insists on at least one visit any time shes in town! A great place to come for a large selection of local draft beer, and locally sourced fresh food!
Western Cafe is one of the best breakfast cafe's we've ever been to. It is quite small, so be prepared for a bit of a wait! It's worth it!
Fairy lake is an Exceptionally beautiful alpine lake nestled near the peaks of the Bridger Range. The road to get there is a 6-mile dirt road. I've seen a Prius up there but I wouldn't recommend taking anything smaller than a crossover SUV. The lake is a fantastic place for a picnic, and there are rope swings to be found if you can brave the icy water! If you keep your eyes peeled, you may find the tree we carved our initials into! For the more adventurous, there is a 4.5 Mile round trip hike from the lake up to Sacajawea Peak, the tallest peak in the Bridger Range. The hike is difficult, so be sure to pack water and wear good hiking shoes!
Floating the Madison is a favorite pastime of nearly everyone in Bozeman. You'll need a couple cars (one to leave downstream and one to take you up) and some floats, but those come real cheap from any outdoors store in the summer. Make sure you bring a cooler of cold drinks and some sunscreen and then enjoy! The float usually takes a couple hours but it depends how fast the river is running. We have a couple of tubes you might be able to borrow!
This little shack serves some seriously great burgers. We'd compare it to Shake Shack but at about a quarter of the price. It's definitely worth a stop, maybe on your way to or from the Madison River!
Glen Lake Park (known as "Bozeman Beach" to the locals) is a great place to spend some time on a hot day! There is a small lake and sand beach that makes a great spot for some swimming/floating or a nice picnic!
MAP brewing is our favorite of the many breweries in town! It has some of the best beers in town, coupled with an incredible view of the Bridger Range and a great patio to enjoy it from. This is a great place to swing by after visiting Bozeman Beach!
Hyalite is the go to canyon for all sorts of outdoor recreation! The Reservoir is a breathtaking view on it's own. While you're up there, try the short 1 mile round trip hike to Palisade Falls! It's a super easy hike for how awesome the falls are. Fun fact: Hyalite is where we got our second round of engagement photos done.
On summer Thursday Nights from 6:30 - 8:30pm, Main Street is home to Music on Main! Several blocks of the historic road get shut down and the bars spill out into the street. There is live music and more alcohol than there really should be for such a small town. After the music stops feel free to visit one of the like 15 bars that main street sports. Be warned, Bar IX's famed "Bucket Night" (also on Thursdays) is not for the faint of heart. Rockin' R bar is a little bit less "College". For something a little less.. well trashy, try the Bozeman Taproom with their rooftop deck or The Copper underground Whiskey Bar. The Molly Brown is a great quiet little dive with a ton of pool tables, and if Wine is your thing Plonk might be worth checking out (we've never been though.)
