This is the tourist information center for Door County, the "Thumb" of Wisconsin; located about an hour Northeast of Green Bay. A frequent destination for tourists! Great place to visit to see some of Northeast WI's fall foliage- one of Megan's favorite things to do all her life! Many white sand beaches along Lake Michigan, lighthouses, boutiques, candy shops, State Parks with views of Lake Michigan or the bay of Green Bay or the limestone bluffs. State/County Parks worth seeing include Potawatomi State Park, Peninsula State Park, Ellison Bluff State Natural Area, Whitefish Dunes State Park, and Cave Point County Park. You can also take the Door County Coastal Byway, a 66-mile stretch of highway that leads to a ferry. The scenic drive offers a condensed tour of the Door peninsula and is great for admiring fall foliage! Don't forget to check out the famous curvy road near Gills Rock- a 1.5-mile stretch of Highway 42 at the northern tip of the peninsula.
