Things To Do

Cloughjordan house is a beautiful, relaxed country house. The owners live on site and describe their weddings as a big house party. You will be made to feel at home during your stay. Guests can hang out at Cloughjordan House so feel free to wander the grounds and check out the gardens where they grow the veg, visit the pigs, chickens and the 2 house dogs. Or if the December weather is not kind, guests can relax by the fire in the various guest areas.

Lough Derg

Lough Derg

Ireland

Lough Derg is a beautiful freshwater lake near to Cloughjordan House (CJH). Killaloe is a lovely town on the lake about a 40 min drive from CJH which would have a number of options for walking, eating and drinking. Also highly recommended for food about 30mins from CJH and also on Lough Derg is Larkins traditional irish bar.

Ireland has an abundance of castles, with Nenagh and Roscrea castles in the immediate surrounding area to CJH. We recommend a trip to Kinnity Castle Hotel (approx 35 mins from CJH) which is a beautifully restored Irish castle which is now a hotel. A nice spot for some lunch for anyone looking to see some countryside

Where to see in Ireland

Where to see in Ireland

Ireland

For those guests intending to stay for a little longer before or after the wedding we recommend travelling to the West of Ireland. The West of Ireland has some beautiful country side and people with highlights including the Ring of Kerry, Galway, Cliffs of Moher and Cork City. You won't be short of sights to see in Ireland's west and you can find details of where to explore on the Irish tourism website:
