Totally up to you! Whatever makes you feel good! This is a completely outdoor event with the ceremony outside and dinner/dancing taking place in a large 40x80 party tent. It can be very hot here in August, especially if it's sunny. There are lots of shady places and always a good breeze up on the hill. In the evening temperatures can drop so bring layers to stay comfortable.

Where is the food coming from?

Answer

We have a fantastic local chef, Matthew Ness who will be providing us with beautiful food all day. He will also be baking sourdough goodies. The meat is provided by Oriah's sister and brother in law, EverMeadow Farm (http://evermeadow.ca)! The animals are raised on the land of Fifth Wind Farm. The vegetables are all grown in the large organic garden on the farm. Our beer is being supplied by Cold Springs Brewery. It is important to us to keep things hyper local and we are blessed that this is possible!

Covid Concerns

We are hopeful the summer will bring with it an opportunity to celebrate in the more 'normal' way, especially since this is an outdoor event. We will of course monitor the situation closely and adjust accordingly. Here is the gov. website for current information. https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid

Is there anywhere to swim?

Answer

Yes! We have a small above ground pool, swim holes a short drive away, and of course the beach in Cobourg
