We met at work and we were talking about an art show I was having and then I offered to bring him to the art studio and teach him how to throw clay (on a ceramic wheel). He was so patient and sat through my whole lecture and then he threw two perfect bowls on his first try! We still have one of the bowls he made with glazes I made. One of our first dates he invited me to go bowling and he taught me how to bowl much better. I got a halfway decent score! That night I told him I could sing like Adele and I did a little serenade. He seemed pretty impressed (whether or not he really believed me I will probably never know, ha ha ha). The rest is history!
Ore had been planning this for I don't know how long and I was totally surprised when he proposed. He took me on a vacation to Raccoon Lake (Indiana) before I had to start my fall semester of grad school (I'm studying art therapy). That Tuesday he took me to the park and we went for a little hike. We came a spot called Miami Vista and he somehow convinced me to stare out at the lake; I was totally oblivious. When I turned back around he was down on his knee and asked me to marry him. And then I cried, Ore has been such a blessing to me and our family. It was so sweet because Ore is from Miami and it's so serendipitous to find a place in the Hoosier state called Miami; it was a perfect spot for a proposal!
