Navigating Florence
The Tram: For navigating within the city, the tram is your best friend! It’s efficient and easy to use. Taxis: We recommend downloading the "Taximove" app. It’s the most reliable way to hail a ride in the city. Trains: If you’re planning a day trip, be sure to check the schedules online before heading to the station (Firenze Santa Maria Novella) to buy your ticket. From the Airport (FLR): Simply hop on the tram for a quick ride to the city center and hotels (approx. €1.70). A Note on "Riposo" Keep in mind that many local businesses and smaller restaurants close for a midday break known as riposo or la pausa. This typically happens between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM, so plan your shopping and lunch accordingly!
