Again, this is prime leaf-peeping time in Vermont. Burlington and Stowe will be busy. Trailheads will be packed and everything will take just a little bit longer. Early bird gets the worm during foliage season!
The perfect short (3 mile) hike for leaf peeping. Best followed by cider donuts or a creemee from Cold Hollow!
World renowned beers. They usually have a food truck on site.
Delicious sandwiches, pastries, and local Vermont goodies on the Stowe side of the Notch road. Could be a perfect stop en route to the venue on Saturday! We love the The Waitsfield (turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce) year round and especially after a hike. Don't knock it till you try it!
Amazing views without hiking! The gondola will drop you off close to the top of Mt. Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak. Tickets can be purchased online ahead of time and range from $40-60 pp depending on demand. There is a restaurant and retail shop at the top.
See Mt. Mansfield on a time crunch and drive to nearly the top! The road ends at 3850ft of elevation and you can get out and hike the last 0.75 miles to the peak. It is a rocky scramble to the top but the views are worth the effort. The cost for the Toll Road is $37 per car, plus an additional $14 per passenger. Recommend purchasing ahead of time.
Popular spot for cider and cider-themed treats. Gets super busy during leaf-peeping season but is worth the wait if you are in Stowe! Try the cider slushie/creemee twist.
More types of cheddar than you can possibly imagine and free samples galore! Best enjoyed after a foliage hike.
Our favorite hike in Vermont! 4.8 miles with a good climb and unbeatable views. We prefer the Burrow's Trail from the Huntington side. Parking lot fills up early on a fall weekend.
Our favorite Burlington brewery with awesome outdoor seating, some of the best beers in VT, and delicious food! We love the burger, kale salad, and loaded fries.
The Burlington Bike Path, comprised of the Greenway and Island Line Trail, stretches from Oakledge park in Burlington out to the causeway in Colchester. It is flat and walker, runner, and cyclist friendly. This is an awesome way to see the lake! The Causeway is a 3-mile packed gravel trail that extends out into the lake. Reward yourself with a creemee afterwards!
Birdie's favorite coffee shop (& ours too). Grab some beans to take home!
Delicious sweet or savory brioche buns as well as other brunch/lunch foods. Right next to Brio Coffeeworks for the perfect morning treat.
Montreal style (small and thin) bagels and awesome bagel sandwiches.
Best pho around. Casual, busy restaurant in the Old North End neighborhood.
