Tom's and Amanda's best friends and now best man and maid of honor, Rami and Erin, are to credit for Tom and Amanda meeting. Tom and Amanda tagged along with their friends to a birthday party at Southern Pacific, a brewery in San Francisco. Tom didn't buy Amanda a drink, instead he "lent" her his sweater and asked her out on a proper date the following week, and the rest is history.

Tom planned his proposal to Amanda for over a year. Tom would sneak up back to New Hampshire once a month while they lived in Manhattan during the summer of 2018 to work on the proposal project. He enlisted their Tuck friends and even had some friends fly out from California to help build lights to decorate a Dartmouth cabin. He even had them go out to the cabin a few months before hand for a dry run. During their best friends visit to Tuck, he had friends pull Amanda away from a wine night, had her hike a mile in the dark to a cabin, where he surprised her with a ring. You may not be surprised reading this, but Amanda was surprised then.
