Welcome to our wedding website! Thank you so much for visiting! This is where you will discover the in’s and out’s of our wedding celebration. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic we had to make necessary adjustments to our plans to ensure the health and safety of our loved ones. Our guest list has been significantly downsized in order to make this day possible and the location has been changed. With that being said, only immediate family members and very close loved ones have been invited. We are inviting you all to beautiful Northport, Michigan on August 28th, 2020. We chose this location because everything is outside (tent), with the exception of the restrooms, and everyone is able to safely distance themselves. So please free to mark your calendars because we would love for you to come safely celebrate with us! Back in high school, both of us participated in marching band. We knew of each other, but never talked on a friend basis. On one particular band trip we played putt putt with a group of mutual friends. While there, Claire tripped over some rocks while showing off her "hole in 1 celebration". Everyone was laughing and having a great time! That night we ended up sitting together on the bus ride home and the rest is history. It all officially started when she called "dibs" at band camp a few months later. 5 short years later we both moved to Traverse City, Michigan with her parents, 2 years later we bought our first house together, and now we're getting married! Our life together has been pretty amazing and I'm excited to see what other adventures we will go on! -Austin

Austin's story was a great rendition, but I thought I would share the REAL story of us. Austin and I did meet through band and mutual friends when we were 16. With him being a year ahead of me I thought there would be no chance he’d ever consider dating me. On the way back from a marching band trip we stopped at a go-cart/ putt putt/ arcade facility. I guess one part of his story was true because I did fall on my face in front of him after I WHOOPED his butt during putt putt and did my happy dance. He helped me up off the ground while laughing at me and we decided to play games in the arcade. I sat next to him on the way home that night. He asked me out within the next week, I said yes, and the rest was NOT history.. not yet anyways. I never had a real boyfriend before and was unaware you had to keep talking to them in order to date them. He lost interest eventually and said that it just wasn't working out and DUMPED me. I wasn't upset until I saw him talking to someone else a couple months later and THAT is when I said, "I called dibs first". What it boils down to is that this was not love at first site. It definitely is not easy growing up and into your own person while loving someone who is going through the same process. It is, however, a challenge that we choose to push through every single day and I could not be happier to be spending it with my sidekick through life. We are both our biggest supporters and cheerleaders--more than that, we are best friends. -Claire

A few months back I bought Claire her dream engagement ring. She had showed me ideas of what she liked and I found a found a local jeweler to work with. With the help of some amazing people, the perfect ring was created.... now what? It's burning a hole in my pocket and I've never been so excited and nervous in my life. I chickened out of asking her parents a few times, but then one day I just did it. Next, I had to decide when to do it! On our 7th anniversary we went to dinner after I surprised her with flowers at work. We went for a hike at Empire Bluff's and jokingly (not really joking) I told her if we make it all the way to the lake I would propose. While standing on the lake shore, she still had no clue as to what I was about to do. We walked on the beach for a while and then looked all the way back up towards the giant climb ahead of us. I asked if she really wanted to do this, she gave me a confused look and I got down on one knee. -Austin
