FAQs

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 3:30 PM with cocktail and reception to immediately follow. Please allow yourself enough time to be seated by 3:25.

Question

Where will the wedding take place?

Answer

The ceremony will take place at Back Dog Wine Company in Oakdale, PA on the front lawn. Cocktail hour and reception will immediately follow.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is casual. Wear something you’re comfortable in—button-up shirts, long flowy dresses, or whatever brings you joy (no jeans). Since our wedding will take place outside, we recommend shoes you're comfortable with walking on uneven surfaces and bring something warm just in case!

Question

What weather should I expect?

Answer

Of course, we can’t guarantee anything, but September can still be quite warm. Keep an eye on the weather in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and have your umbrella ready just in case.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place outdoors. The reception will be located outdoors under a tent. We also have full use of the winery indoors. In the event of any weather conditions, we will move indoors.

Question

What should I expect after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the immediate family of the couple will be taking pictures around the winery for around an hour. Guests can mingle inside or on the patio where snacks and drinks will be flowing. Dinner will be served at 5:00 pm, with dancing to follow.

Question

Will transportation be provided? Is there easy parking at the venue?

Answer

We are not providing any formal transportation for the event, but our ceremony and reception are taking place at the same location. There is ample parking for those who feel comfortable driving, and Uber or Lyft are a great option for those who don’t. Please stay safe and default to a ride service or carpooling if you plan to drink.

Question

Are the ceremony and reception location wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Yes. We will be outdoors so the terrain is a little bumpy and the building has a ramp in the front to enter.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

We sure hope you’ll be able to join us for our special day. With your invitation, there is a QR code that you can scan, or feel free to let us know your plans right here on our website.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

Please get us your RSVP by August 10th, so we have time to buy enough food and booze.

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

Since we have extended families and children of our own, we’ve chosen to limit our guest list to those children in our immediate family, and we hope you understand. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

Question

Can I bring my partner?

Answer

We are at capacity with our venue which means we are sadly unable to accommodate additional guests. We will only be able to accommodate those listed on your invitation. If you have any questions, please reach out.

Question

Do you have a hotel block for guests?

Answer

Yes. To make a reservation, please call the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott at 412-788-8800 and mention the Hanavan Lienemann wedding for a group rate of $149 per night. To reserve online, click here: https://www.marriott.com/event-reservations/reservation-link.mi?id=1705612224920&key=GRP&app=resvlink Please make your reservation prior to August 23rd to receive our group rate. The hotel is approximately 5 minutes from our venue.

Question

What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

Answer

We’ll be serving light snacks during cocktail hour, followed by a delicious dinner, and of course (the bride's favorite) dessert!

Question

I have dietary restrictions, what’s the best way to communicate that with you?

Answer

We definitely want to make sure you enjoy your time and meal on our wedding day. Please let us know when you RSVP about your dietary needs.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes- The wine and beer are on us, but the hangover is on you. Cheers!

Question

Are you accepting cookies?

Answer

The Pittsburgh Cookie Table is a tradition that the friends and family of the bride and groom bring homemade cookies as a gift of love. These are shared with all of the guests at the wedding. If you would like to join in on the fun and contribute your baking skills please let us know! We will need to know how many and what kind you plan to bring. We can get in touch with you on how these will get to the venue. Please contact Kayla if you would like to bring cookies.

Question

Are you registered?

Answer

The most important thing is to have you with us on our special day. No gifts are needed or expected. However, we have been asked what we need or would like, and if you do wish to give us something, a donation to our wishing well would be great, but only if you wish to participate.

Question

Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?

Answer

We love photos! We do ask that you refrain from posting anything till after we have had a chance to make it official. We encourage our guests to get the best photos they can and we can't wait to see them! Be sure to scan the QR codes to add them to our shared gallery.

Question

Will there be an after party?

Answer

After the party, it's the hotel lobby! We will be heading back to the Airport Marriott Hotel where we plan to spend some time at the lobby bar with anyone who can join.
