Kayla and Dan initially met in August of 2020 when Dan was coaching their sons' All Star baseball team. Gavin and Kaylib played baseball together for a few years and in becoming friends, Kayla and Dan became more acquainted. Dan showed interest in Kayla first, and she saw nothing more than the kids coach. He worked up the courage to ask her out and after some convincing from friends, she agreed. They had their first date on April 16, 2022. Kayla saw him as more than just the coach she had come to know him as, and they have been together ever since.
