We're Getting Married!

We met while we were both at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Bethany enrolled in a class that was absolutely NOT in her degree plan in order to graduate. Then, one fateful evening, in wafts a vision in all pink, late as per usual and cannot see any other seats available, except next to Robert. As Robert recalls, there were many other seats available. Bethany looked over (one or two classes later) and realized just how handsome her classmate was. After some thorough, but unsuccessful internet stalking, Bethany decided the only way to find out more was to turn and (shocker) speak with him. Then one Thursday evening in August of 2015, she feigned ignorance and asked Robert where the gym was on campus. That question turned into a three hour conversation. Bethany told her mum that night she met the man she was going to marry. The rest is history.

Robert planned the proposal almost a year before the actual proposal. He gifted Bethany a dream trip to England, France and then Italy for Christmas, in 2017. Little did she know, the trip was only part of the surprise. Backstory: Bethany had told Robert her dream was to get engaged in Paris, France under the Eiffel Tower. Unbeknownst to Bethany, Robert had told some people what his plan was and so they waited and waited, with bated breath, refreshing snapchat as they made their way to the Eiffel Tower. However, Robert decided that it didn't seem like the right place and altered his plans at the last minute. The confusion from loved ones ensued. After Paris, we headed to Sorrento, Italy and it was just an absolutely perfect day - not to be cliche. Once we arrived at our hotel and saw the view of the Amalfi coastline, he said he knew that was where he was going to propose. We explored the town and had an amazing dinner, living La Dolce Vita. Bethany couldn't figure out why he was in such a rush to get back for sunset and took her sweet time picking out some wine to sit and enjoy - but what's new. We walked back to the hotel and at sunset overlooking the Mediterranean, Robert got down on one knee and asked Bethany to be his wife.
