Things To Do

We are working on a more in-depth guide and list of things to do in the amazing country of Portugal. So far, these are some of the main attractions to visit while in Lisbon. I haven't listed everything, but some of the more well known or must do things. Additionally, we recommend exploring other parts of Portugal besides Lisbon. Porto is amazing, and same with the Algarve region. All of them are accessible via train, or about a 3 hour drive. Additionally, Portugal has Madeira, and the Azores as island destinations.

Below is a link to all of the destinations I have saved in Portugal. I hope it can give you an idea of some of the things you can do when planning your trip

Google Sheets of Things to do

Please view this doc that contains a bunch of information regarding Portugal

Castelo de São Jorge

R. de Santa Cruz do Castelo, Lisboa, 1100-129, Portugal

Epic Castle with views of the entire city. Be warned, it is very hilly

Praça do Comércio

Lisbon, Lisbon 1100-148, Portugal

Walking down the R. dos Sapateiros, (the main road to water) will take you to this square. It's really pretty with great views of the water

LX Factory

103 Rua Rodrigues de Faria, Lisboa, Lisboa 1300-501, Portugal

Really cool and hip spot with a bunch of shops and restaurants. The bookstore there is really iconic

Belém Tower

Av. Brasília, Lisboa, Lisboa 1400-038, Portugal

Iconic castle on the water, that has been under repairs for the past year but should open in time. It is next to the Monument to the Discoveries, and Mosteiro dos Jeronimos. A great area to do some exploring

Pastéis de Belém

84 Rua de Belém, Lisboa, Lisboa 1300-085, Portugal

This is the OG pastel de nata. You have to go here

Santa Justa Lift

Rua de Santa Justa, Lisboa, Lisboa 1150-060, Portugal

I would reccommend not paying for this and just looping up around (walking up a hill) to get the same views. On the way you will pass by Carmo Archaeological Museum which is supposed to be nice

Miradouro da Graça

Calçada da Graça, Lisboa, Lisboa 1100-265, Portugal

This is one of the best views of the city, and situated next to a very historical church. Warning walking up here is all uphill, and is not easy. The area around it is nice with good food options. We really liked Sant'Avó

MAAT - Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology

Avenida Brasília, Lisboa, Lisboa 1300-598, Portugal

The architecture is extremely modern and it right up on the water. You can bike around that area, or just walk around, even on top of the building itself.

National Palace of Pena

Estrada da Pena, Sintra, Lisboa 2710-609, Portugal

This is the famous yellow and red palace. It will give you stunning views of the land around you

Quinta da Regaleira

Sintra, Lisbon 2710-567, Portugal

Early 20th century-built palace & gardens with underground passages, a chapel & museum, plus events

Time Out Market

49 Avenida 24 de Julho, Lisboa, Lisboa 1200-161, Portugal

The classic Time Out Market, which contains a bunch of food stalls, so you can try a variety of foods

Boca do Inferno - Devil’s Mouth

642 Avenida Rei Humberto II de Itália, Cascais, Lisboa 2750-800, Portugal

Take a trip to Cascais to visit the beaches, the town, and the beautiful cliffs along the water

Cape Roca

s/n Estrada do Cabo da Roca, Colares, Lisboa 2705-001, Portugal

Cabo da Roca, or Cape Roca, is the westernmost point of mainland continental Europe, located on the Atlantic coast of Portugal near Sintra. It is known for its dramatic cliffs, stunning ocean views, and a historic lighthouse that has operated since 1772. The site offers scenic hiking trails and is a popular destination, especially for watching sunsets. A bus can take you there, but if you drive there are a bunch of beaches on the western shore
