Bukky and Biijay met through a dating app in October 2017. Their first date was on Halloween at a Jamaican restaurant. That night to be sure that she would show up, Biijay sent Bukky multiple messages tracking his uber to the destination. Bukky chuckled at this, knowing that she planned to show up. The two immediately connected. The two agreed that they didn't like the dry chicken at Jamaican restaurant and but that the corn board was decent. Bukky and Biijay spent the rest of the night connecting over shared culture, dating experiences, faith and future goals. Bukky began to feel that Biijay was someone special when he brought her a whole cake with her name inscribed on it for her birthday just a few weeks after their first date. She also loved how up front and honest Biijay was about his life. Biijay states he knew that Bukky was the one for him when she agreed at the restaurant that the chicken was bad. Within a few months Bukky and Biijay made their relationship official and shared their connection with their family and friends. Over that next year Bukky and Biijay strengthened their connection. Biijay was Bukky's emotional support through a first year at her fast paced job and Bukky supported Biijay while in his MBA program. Throughout their journey Bukky and Biijay have learned to be a strong team and are so grateful for their faith and their communities who are at the backbone of their relationship. Bukky and Biijay also love to have fun. Their favorite activities as a couple are laughing, all things Black Panther, music, KevOnStage, social justice, taking trips and spending time with people in their community. Bukky and Biijay are so excited to spend their special day with all the special people in their lives as they move into the next phase of their journey together!!
