We suggest flying Virgin Australia or Qantas Airlines from LAX. Use Google Flights OR Expedia to ensure you're getting a good deal! Remember that Australia is 1 day ahead of the U.S.A. We suggest leaving Friday the 15th on a redeye non-stop and landing in Sydney (SYD), 2 days later on Sunday morning the 17th. Get adjusted to jet lag before events start. Have a big nap, you'll need it!

Delta & American Airlines also have good service to & from Sydney. & if you're looking for a cheap Business Class deal - check out Air New Zealand! (may have a short layover, but great rates).
Premium Economy on all airlines we find is not really worth the extra $. If flying Virgin Australia, check out their "Economy X" seating, worth the extra $100!
If you're heading north after the wedding (Byron Bay etc) you may also want to look at flying out of Brisbane (BNE) back to LAX.
