Daniel's Perspective: On college orientation day, a friend of Daniel told him about this "hot Colombian" that he had seen in his class. Shortly after, they all randomly crossed paths in the middle of campus and Daniel quickly realized that his American friend had mixed up his Latin American geography because Olivia was not Colombian, but in fact, Cuban. The year went on and Daniel knew one thing, this was not a race, but a marathon. He promised his closest friends that he would win the long game. From May 2018 to January 2019, Daniel climbed the Cuban version of Mount Everest to finally reach the summit and be proud to call Olivia his girlfriend. The rest is history...

Olivia's Perspective: Daniel shares with Olivia that he has a 7 year high school reunion and a soccer game that he COULD NOT miss in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Daniel and Olivia take various complicated flights but finally arrive in Buenos Aires. That weekend, Daniel shared that all of his friends would be in Areco. Olivia could not be more ecstatic to go enjoy the weekend where she had experienced one of her most treasured moments riding horses in the field. On one of the days in the campo, Daniel wakes Olivia and tells her, "Come on, we're riding horses with Rafa and Marti but we have to grab the horses first and bring them to the stable." Stubbornly, Olivia stays in bed to grab a few more precious moments of sleep then finally wakes up. Daniel and Olivia begin the journey to the horses in the field to move them all to the stable. On the walk there, Olivia wasn't feeling too keen as the night before they had all gone to sleep around 5am. However, Olivia was determined to get the horses to experience another serene moment. As we approach the horses, Daniel begins with sentimental conversation, and although Olivia finds it sweet, she is more focused on rounding the horses. We arrive in the middle of the horse-filled field and he says to her, "Olivia I want to take our relationship to the next level." Olivia expresses, "Yes, Daniel of course." She moves on to strategize how we would round up these beasts. Daniel grabs Olivia again, "Olivia, en serio (seriously), I want to take this relationship to the next step..." Olivia sees Daniel pulling something out of his jacket as he slowly gets down on a knee and expresses their famous quote, "Olivia, I want to make 'para la eternidad' start now.... will you marry me?" Between the horses, the walk, the long night they had before, Olivia could not wrap her mind around what was occurring right in front of her. She finally realizes and looks at Daniel with tear-filled eyes and says "Yes, of course." They embrace and Daniel points back to the house, where 6 of his friends were galloping and yelling on horses, behind them a truck bed filled with the rest of the friends to celebrate their love that would be forever. Everything looked like a movie, we all rejoiced and began and ended the day with roasting a lamb, drinks, and friendly company around a fire. There was never a high school reunion...
