8 years ago, Scotty and Oliviah serendipitously met at a Snakehips concert in Anchorage. At the time, Scotty was living in Barrow, and the two began communicating daily—sharing long conversations and getting to know each other over the phone. Whenever he visited, they were inseparable. About six months later, Scotty faced a big decision: move to Minnesota with his dad, or take a chance on love and move to Anchorage. He chose love and it’s safe to say that gamble paid off! Over the years, the two have nurtured each other’s talents by attending countless shows, music festivals, performances, and events they’ve been part of together. Whether it’s listening to endless playlists, long nights of rehearsals, costume designing (with crafting bits and glitter everywhere!), tending to sore muscles, or loading gear in and out of venues, they have been in total support of one another. It’s a rare and beautiful thing to find two artist hearts who push each other to grow and embrace the skills that set their souls on fire. When not performing or working, they’ve spent time traveling to Nevada, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, and California visiting friends and family, road tripping, attending concerts and festivals, and exploring nature. The two hope to do more traveling together and take Scotty on his first international trip. At home in Alaska, you can usually find them hiking, camping or taking long drives wherever the wind takes them. On their most recent trip to Arizona, Scotty surprised Oliviah with a hot air balloon at sunrise over Sedona and proposed in the morning sky. It was a truly breathtaking moment they’ll never forget. Floating above the desert in perfect stillness, they looked out into the vast world ahead—hopeful and excited for their future together. Embracing that desire for more peace and stillness, they moved out of the busy city four years ago and bought their first home together in Wasilla. There, they live on a quaint acre with their two dogs, Tanner and Kevin; their chinchilla, Sadie; two axolotls; and a variety of fish. Scotty and Oliviah have put countless hours of love and thought into planning the perfect day, and they can’t wait to celebrate their union surrounded by the people they love most. Let’s party!
