The Darling Oyster Bar
Hands down the best place to get oysters! Grab a seat at the oyster bar for happy hour ($1 oysters and drink specials). And be sure to order some of their delicious hushpuppies.
Frannie and The Fox
Located in the super cute boutique hotel, Emeline, Frannie's is a great place to grab a fun cocktail and yummy shareable plates. We recommend requesting a table on their outdoor patio and ordering the beef & pork meatballs!
Lewis Barbecue
Wyman went to the University of Texas (hook 'em!) for grad school and during his time in Austin, he fell in love with Texas barbecue. In his opinion, this is the best brisket on the East Coast. If you're not in the mood for BBQ, check out their burger food truck located outside the restaurant.
Leon's
A casual spot for fried chicken, oysters, and cheap cold beer. The fried chicken sandwich is our favorite. Make sure to get a soft-serve ice cream cone with sprinkles before you leave!
Cru Cafe
Cru is a go-to spot for lunch or dinner that never disappoints. The restaurant is located in a charming house and has a great outdoor patio. The truffle parmesan fries are delish!
Fuel Charleston
We frequented this spot for lunch and afternoon drinks in college. You can make a meal out of the nachos and frozen pain reliever. Fun fact: it was on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, so it's Guy-approved :)
Anson Restaurant
Quintessential Charleston. A great place to grab a nice dinner. The Whole Crispy Flounder is Wyman's favorite dish in CHS! And don't leave without ordering the almond basket for dessert!
Le Farfalle
Delicious Italian food with a great atmosphere -- perfect for a nice dinner. The warm rosemary focaccia is to die for!
Little Jack's Tavern
Voted "Best Burger in the nation" by Bon Appetit. LJT is the best place to go if you are craving an old-fashioned burger and a bottled coke.
Brown Dog Deli
One of the best places to grab a quick lunch. This Broad St. establishment has amazing sandwiches. Olivia's favorite: Rosemary's Baby's Daddy. Wyman's favorite: Knuckle Sandwich. And make sure you order a side of the Broccoli Kale Salad!
Citrus Club
The best rooftop view in Charleston! Located in one of our favorite hotels, The Dewberry. It's popular, so we recommend going early to put your name on the list and grabbing a drink at nearby Hotel Bennett while you wait -- it is worth the wait, we promise!
Bistro A Vin
If you know Olivia, you know she loves wine and cheese. This cozy spot is the perfect place to grab a glass of wine and a yummy charcuterie board. The P'tit Basque cheese is a must-order!
Eleve Rooftop Restaurant & Lounge
Another great rooftop bar. Eleve is located in the quirky Grand Bohemian Hotel. Take a seat on the funky furniture and grab a cool cocktail. Our favorite drink is the "Made in Mexico."
The Cistern - College of Charleston
Visit Wyman's alma mater - Go Cougs! College of Charleston is one of the most beautiful campuses in the US. Fun fact: You may recognize The Cistern from movies like The Notebook and The Patriot.
South of Broad
There's nothing quite like springtime in Charleston! One thing we always do while we are in town is walk around South of Broad. Our favorite walk is down Church St. to Longitude Lane (a pedestrian-only alley) to East Bay St. (The Battery). As a plus, the jasmine vines will be in full bloom the week of our wedding!
Aiken-Rhett House Museum
One of the reasons we love Charleston is its deep history. We toured many historic homes while we lived there, but this was one of our favorites. Fun fact: Olivia lived in a house across the street one summer (s/o 13 Judith!)
