We met in the Summer of 2014. Olivia and her sorority sister (now bridesmaid), Cameron Sigmon, decided to live in Charleston for the summer together after their freshman year of college. During the summer, they frequented a notorious college bar, “The Silver Dollar” (locally known as The Dollar and of course for their $1 well drinks). One night at The Dollar, they bumped into some of Cameron's mutual friends, and Olivia was introduced to Wyman who had just completed his sophomore year at CofC. Immediately, they hit it off and spent the whole night chatting about things they had in common although they were total strangers. Later that night, Olivia texted several of her girlfriends claiming she just "met her future husband.” Flash forward to 7 years later and Olivia’s prediction came true!

We spontaneously planned a hiking trip to Arizona in the midst of the pandemic. Wyman had been holding onto the ring for several months prior and was just waiting for the right opportunity to propose. A few nights into our trip, we were at the Grand Canyon and Olivia suggested they watch the sunset over the canyon and pop a bottle of bubbly. Wyman was originally planning to propose on the grueling Bright Angel Trail hike they had planned for the next day. However, he switched gears (thank goodness!) and realized that the sunset was the better opportunity. After a few minutes into the sunset, Wyman dropped to one knee and asked Olivia to marry him. The rest of the night was spent with more bubbly, lots of happy tears, and facetimes with family and friends.
