During college, about midway through September I decided to go to a party the street over from where I was living in at the time. While I was walking across the grass I noticed a boy sitting on the porch balcony looking as cool as ever. I immediately needed to know who this was and thankfully my roommate knew his name. She introduced us quickly and of course I was too nervous to say too much but he shook my hand and in that happy sing-song voice said "Hi I'm Thomas Kelly". I was smitten. We didn't meet again until a few days later at a river side bonfire on secret beach. He came over the second he saw me and we talked all night. It wasn't until 6 months later we ran into each other again but this time we decided to go on a date. We learned we shared the same values, goals and interests. It was all history from then on out. We are so excited for the rest of our lives!
We were a few weeks from moving across the country to Colorado and I decided I wanted some nice photos before we left New Hampshire. I thought we could go up to one of my favorite spots in the area and put the camera on a tripod. Well, it turns out my mom reached out to our amazingly talented photographer friend and asked if she would take our photos instead, she said yes! We spent the afternoon taking photos in her studio, out in the snow and finished the day at my favorite spot for sunset. It was the perfect day. I was so cold I wasn't paying any attention to the fact that Thomas was fidgeting with his coat and before I knew it he turned to me and got down on one knee. All I could manage was "what!!" between my tears and laughter from pure happiness. I eventually got out, "of course!" and we popped champagne. I came home to all my friends and family waiting for us. It was the most amazing winter solstice and will forever be a day to celebrate in our family!
