Question

With so many people postponing their events and weddings. What is happening with your wedding?

Answer

As of now, our wedding is proceeding as planned. We really think that we will be able to have a safe, fun time in Charleston in July. However, with everything that has been going on in the world, it this is not a decision that we are making easily. The safety of all of our guests is our top priority and we are only considering moving forward with our original date after discussing with event experts in the Charleston area and confirming that there will be additional precautions in place with all of your wellbeing in mind. In light of the circumstances, we are trying to get an accurate guest count as soon as possible. If you know your plans, please RSVP this weekend, so we can make a final decision on keeping the wedding date.

Question

Are you taking any precautions in light of COVID19?

Answer

We recognize that many of you may have concerns about our wedding events, so we wanted to share some information to help put everyone at ease. The following precautions are being implemented at our venues during the wedding weekend: -All of the event spaces are either large enough to allow for proper spacing, or have additional outdoor spaces, so the events will never be too crowded -Hand sanitizer stations have been added to most of the venues -Masks will be provided when riding in any transportation that we provide -All venues are committed to frequent, professional cleaning of highly touched areas -Food safety guidelines are being strictly followed. -Including our reception that will be served in a stations format with chef attendants to insure food safety

Question

How is Charleston recovering from COVID19

Answer

While some of you are in areas that are still very shut down, it has been reassuring to us that things are really looking up in Charleston: -Many people are back to normal routines with going to work, dining out and having social interactions, without the area seeing a rise in COVID19 cases. -Large events have been proceeding as plan, with weddings of a similar size as ours happening as early as last weekend. -The Charleston Visitors Bureau (CVB) is highlighting all of the businesses that have reopened; from lodging, dining and attractions: https://www.charlestoncvb.com/blog/charleston-openings. -Short term rentals on sites like Air BnB and VRBO are back to operating as normal and all of the hotels that we have room blocks at are either already open or opening in June. -We continue to be encouraged by all of the businesses that have reopened and the travel and tourism Charleston continues to attract.

Question

If I’m not sure what I’m doing yet, should I RSVP and can I change it later?

Answer

Please keep us posted with your plans and know that you can change your RSVP status. We want to make sure that everyone feels comfortable and safe.

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

It is a saying in the Sewak’s (and most coach’s) household that if you are 5 minutes early, you are 10 minutes late. Please arrive by 4:15, or expect the father of the bride to make you run laps around the church.
