FAQs

Question

When do I need to RSVP by?

Answer

The 14th of December, 2025

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Please arrive at 2:30 pm. If you're running late (like Olivia always is), it's no big deal, just sneak in and sit down at the back. But try to be on time.

Question

When does the wedding end?

Answer

Food and speeches will be over by about 7:30 pm, then there will be dancing, including a Scottish ceilidh (line dancing with a fiddle). Things will wind down from 10 pm, and we all need to leave the venue by 11 pm at the latest.

Question

How far away is the venue?

Answer

It is about a 1.5 hour drive to Connemara Country Lodge from Central Auckland. Make sure you allow time for traffic.

Question

Can I get a ride to the venue?

Answer

Absolutely! We're actively trying to help people carpool because parking is limited. If you don't know anyone else going or need assistance sorting a ride, please get in touch with us. (Olivia: 0277417313).

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in. If that is a suit and tie, go for it! If that is your cosiest pyjamas, go for it! However, if you're wanting some guidance, semi-formal is always a good way to go, just so long as you're comfortable in your fit.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes, but onsite parking is limited. Please make plans to carpool so that we can all fit (as well as have a smaller impact on the planet).

Question

How accessible is the venue?

Answer

We have done our best to choose an accessible venue. However, we know the most helpful thing for fellow spoonies is to have all the information in advance. Please check out the "Accessibility" tab on this website for more info, and contact us if you still have questions. We're committed to helping craft an accessiblity strategy for you so that you can participate as much as you want to.

Question

Can I go visit the lighthouse?

Answer

At this stage, it's looking like the road to the lighthouse will unfortunately be closed due to remaining damage and slips from Cyclone Gabrielle. We're hoping the road will be open by March 2026, but the latest intel is that the road will only be opening in May 2026.

Question

What do I bring?

Answer

Nothing, just your happy self and your clothing :)

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

No sorry, the venue is quite small as it stands and we'll already be pushing its capacity! However, if you need a guide or carer for accessibility reasons, we can accommodate them.

Question

Is it BYO?

Answer

Yes! You can bring your own drinks, alcoholic or not, although Ravi and Olive will be providing plenty for everyone. If you have a particular drink (beer or wine) that you'd prefer to drink, let us know, and we might even be able to provide it alongside our other selection of drinks.

Question

Can I bring drugs?

Answer

No sorry, this is a drug-free space.

Question

What is your wet weather plan?

Answer

This is planned as an outside wedding, but in case of rain, the venue has a marquee that we will squeeze under. It'll be tight, so pray for sun!

Question

Will there be food that I can eat?

Answer

We aim to provide food that everyone can eat, regardless of your dietary requirements. Please let us know if you have specific allergies or dietaries, and we'll make sure there's a yummy meal for you.

Question

How spicy will the food be?

Answer

We will have a range of spice levels in our food, which will mostly be curries ranging from white-people-mild to hella spicy.
