It all started when a girl got a job with her best friend at the mall. Her very first “customer” to greet was a boy she didn’t know she worked with. Flustered by his cuteness, she used the wrong store name in her greeting and to this day, he hasn’t let her forget it.
After months of 15 minute beach dates after school, Jose invited Olivia for a pizza date on the same beach with a very cheesy “will you be my girlfriend written in the top of the box. Of course she said yes, it was the second time he’s asked after all.
Though neither set of parents were thrilled to see their babies fly the nest, after 3 years together, Olivia and jose closed on their first home together. Shortly after settling in, they filled this home with their 3 beloved fur-babies, Thelma, Ash, and Gizmo.
After a bit of planning and a bit of hinting from both, jose and Olivia, the time came for the big question. After a beautiful birthday date, they found themselves at the beach recounting how much they meant to each other. Jose, nervous and emotional, prepared himself for the big question. Olivia, convinced he was proposing the following week, tried to keep it light and made fun of the poor guy for crying. Jose pulled out the ring and Olivia was speechless. “Well?” Jose said after a moment of silence. “Are you going to ask me the question?” Olivia replied. In his nervous state, Jose almost forgot the actual question but of course Olivia said yes, no need to ask twice.
Just when the wedding date is set for November of 2022 and the plans have started to begin, life threw Olivia and Jose a beautiful curve ball. They discovered they were expecting their daughter Margaret Marie Mota, lovingly referred to as Maggie or her “street name” Triple M.
After 9 long months of waiting and preparing, Maggie finally joined her parents earthside. Up to this point, Olivia still planned to put together their wedding for November of the following year. What she didn’t account for was the challenges that a newborn brings. Their wedding plans changed more than a few time in Maggie’s first 6 months of life but Olivia and Jose knew it would all work out in the end.
After putting off wedding planning for 6 months but still wanting to get married in 2022, Jose and Olivia decided on a intimate, immediate family only wedding ceremony (considering it would be difficult to find a venue on such short notice). However, not even a week after this decision was made, they came across a bride who moved her wedding to a later date, leaving the date of September 24, 2022, Olivia’s golden birthday, up for grabs at her venue. Olivia and Jose jumped on the opportunity as it seemed too perfect to pass up and they began planning for a much larger wedding.
A lot of work had been put into making this wedding happen on such short notice. Jose and Olivia couldn’t be more grateful to their families and friends for helping to make it a possibility. The (future) Mota family cannot wait to celebrate their little family and the start of this next chapter of their lives with all of you at their wedding!
