Flying into Lajes Airport in Terceira will most commonly require a stopover in either Lisbon or in Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island. If your trip allows for it, we recommend spending a few days in either place! Please make sure to book your flights well in advance, we recommend looking anywhere 8-10 months in advance- because there are fewer flights, prices will increase as people book them!
The flights between Terceira and São Miguel (or any other Azorean island) are very small planes, and the flights are under 1 hour.
Direct flights are available from 2 cities in the US:
-Boston - Lajes (fly out Mondays and return on Tuesdays ) through Azores Airlines (SATA)
- San Francisco - Lajes (fly out & return on Tuesdays) through TAP Air Portugal
