Question

I thought you were getting married overseas. Why is your wedding in the States now?

Answer

It was our hope to get married overseas, but as travel restrictions continue to be prolonged and a door opened for Hanna and his family to travel to the States, we decided to move our wedding to Charlotte.

Question

What happened to the blessing ceremony?

Answer

We were originally planning what we called a blessing ceremony in the U.S. in order to allow our stateside family and friends to take part in witnessing our commitment to each other before the Lord and to come alongside us to support our union. This was going to take place sometime after our overseas wedding. Now that our wedding will be in Charlotte, there is no need for another ceremony. Lord-willing, we will have an event overseas later to celebrate with our Middle Eastern family.

Question

Will we be able to see the wedding if we can't make it in person?

Answer

Yes! We will be livestreaming for those who cannot join us in person. Please let us know if you would like to be added to the Facebook group where the livestream link will be posted.

Question

How far is the ceremony/reception location from the airport?

Answer

StoneBridge Church Community is a 25-30-minute drive from the Charlotte-Douglass International Airport.

Question

What is the significance of StoneBridge?

Answer

StoneBridge Church Community is special to us because it was Hanna's church family during his time in North Carolina and because it's the place where Olivia first saw Hanna and the story began.

Question

How do you pronounce "Hanna"?

Answer

"Hanna" is Arabic for "John" and only has three letters in Arabic (حنا = H-n-a). It's not "Hannah" or "Hah-nuh" or "Henna," although he will answer to any of those. Instead, it's pronounced with a breathy (not throaty) H sound followed by the "nuh" sound. Don't worry, it took me weeks of practice to pronounce it right!
