Olivia and Grant met freshman year of college at Ohio University (go Bobcats). They had mutual friends and would see each other at parties or at the market where Olivia worked, but they were merely acquaintances until toward the end of their senior year in 2013. That’s when they got to know each other better over classic Athens pastimes like mega mugs at Red Brick on Wednesday nights and Chipotle between classes. After graduation, they began dating long distance (Olivia in Columbus, Grant in Athens) until June 2017 when they moved in together in German Village.

In July 2018, Olivia unknowingly arranged her own proposal. Grant suggested Olivia have her friend Lauren take pictures of their new puppy. Turns out, Grant had planned this with Lauren weeks before. Grant proposed under a tree in the park behind their house. Every shocked expression and happy tear was perfectly documented. Grant then took advantage of Olivia’s predictable nature and asked where she wanted to grab a beer to celebrate. Olivia suggested Seventh Son. When they got to the brewery, all of their family and friends were there for a surprise engagement party–making it one of the best days ever.
