Their journey began at the University of Michigan in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Olivia was a junior and Chris was a sophomore, both actively involved in Christian organizations on campus. Olivia served as the event coordinator for Delight Ministries, while Chris was the VP of his men's Christian fraternity, BYX. With their shared dedication to organization and ministry, they first connected while planning mixers for their groups to come together! What started as "business FaceTime calls" to plan events gradually evolved into something more meaningful, though Olivia didn't realize it at first. Chris saw these calls as opportunities to get to know her better, and soon began inviting her to study sessions and bringing Panera to brighten her long days in the library. Both attended Grace Bible Church in Ann Arbor, and since Olivia had a car on campus, she began giving Chris rides to services. These Sunday morning drives became a cherished part of their routine, strengthening both their friendship and faith. Everything changed on April 2, 2021, when Chris invited Olivia to his fraternity's formal, asking her with her favorite Starbucks drink in hand. As the school year drew to a close, God's timing proved perfect when Olivia secured a summer job near Ann Arbor to gain clinical hours for PA school, allowing them more time together. On May 29, 2021, Chris officially asked Olivia to be his girlfriend, marking the beginning of their formal journey together. They grew stronger through the next three years, including navigating two years of mid-distance dating when Olivia moved to Pittsburgh, PA, for PA school. Though separated by a four-hour drive, their commitment to each other and their shared faith only deepened with each visit. True to his thoughtful nature, Chris spent months secretly planning the perfect proposal. On August 31st, 2024, he led Olivia to the enchanting secret garden on Mackinac Island, where their closest friends were present to witness the special moment. Olivia describes the proposal as a complete shock and felt like she had stepped into a fairytale. Our foundation in Christ has been the cornerstone of our relationship from the very beginning, guiding us through every step of our journey together. We're grateful for how God brought us together and continues to strengthen our bond as we prepare to begin our lives together as husband and wife.
