Getting to Islamorada is easy — and the drive is part of the experience. We recommend flying into one of the following airports and renting a car: Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) – Most convenient & often best flight options Miami International Airport (MIA) Key West International Airport (EYW) From there, you’ll enjoy a scenic drive down (or up!) the Overseas Highway. Approximate Drive Times: Miami → Islamorada: ~2 hours Fort Lauderdale → Islamorada: ~2 to 2.5 hours Key West → Islamorada: ~2 hours We strongly recommend renting a car, as ride-shares can be limited in the Keys and having your own vehicle makes exploring easy. The drive itself is beautiful — turquoise water on both sides, ocean bridges, and classic Florida Keys views — so plan a little extra time, relax, and enjoy the ride.
