Caleb and Olivia first met in the fall of 2024 when Caleb moved from Missouri to Princeton to begin his PhD, and Olivia had just returned from DC to be closer to family. In the spring of 2025, Caleb and Olivia got to know each other at Hope’s Thursday night Bible study at the Cho’s. Caleb’s feelings for Olivia grew. He sought wise counsel and prayerfully discerned how to pursue her, while Olivia remained completely oblivious—though Caleb mistook her genuine kindness for reciprocated interest. One night, Olivia noticed Caleb acting a little differently and decided to investigate. Through the “married-friend pipeline,” she confirmed that she wasn’t crazy: Caleb did like her. Still, she wasn’t sure yet if she was crazy about the idea. Group hangouts were suggested as a way to see if things should move forward, but they never actually happened—prompting one of Olivia’s friends to joke, “Boy wants to go out with girl, but boy is never in town.” Eventually, Olivia got tired of waiting to figure this out and decided to send word to Caleb to just ask her out. She knew they would simply have to go out to see if this would work. Shortly after, Caleb gave Pastor David a call. Caleb was honored and blessed to receive his permission and his prayers for these weighty matters of the heart. On June 21, 2025, Caleb and Olivia went on their first date and found they had much in common in terms of their faith, Reformed convictions, personalities, and hopes for the days ahead. It wasn't long before they realized that this was more than just something that could "work." On November 15, 2025, Caleb dropped to one knee in the Wyman House Garden behind Princeton’s Graduate College and proposed. Olivia said yes—and the rest is history. We thank the Lord for how He has answered many prayers in providentially bringing us together. We’re so excited to rejoice and praise the Lord with family and friends as we begin this next chapter together as husband and wife!
