The Wedding Website of Oliver Setka and Sonia Gill
Dubrovnik, situated on the most southern tip of Croatia on the Adriatic Sea coast, it is usually regarded as the most picturesque city on the Dalmatian coast and is referred to as the “Pearl of the Adriatic.” It is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean. The history of Dubrovnik dates back to the 7th century and the old city of Dubrovnik was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979. There are no cars in the old city and little alleyways run off the main boulevards filled with restaurants, shops, old homes and photo opportunities.

Sponza Palace

CEREMONY LOCATION

Dating back to the 15th Century and located in the very heart of Dubrovnik Old Town, it is a beautiful mix of Gothic and Renaissance style. It is one of the most representative monuments of public importance within the monumental fabric of Dubrovnik dating back to the time of the full rise and flowering of the Dubrovnik Republic. Our ceremony will begin inside the historic courtyard of the palace at 4:00pm.

Lovrijenac Fortress

RECEPTION DINNER LOCATION

After the ceremony we will walk 10min through old town , exit though the Pile Gates and up 175 steps to the centuries old Fort Lovrijenac entrance for our dinner, music, and dancing! Overlooking the Adriatic Sea from a cliff-top perch, Fort Lovrijenac is a Dubrovnik icon. Thought to be around 1,000 years old, the 121-foot (37-meter) fortress was used to defend the city for centuries. Chronologists date the fort to 1018 or 1038. Game of Thrones fans will recognize this as the Red Keep in King's Landing. Reception will begin at 6:00pm. It may get a little windy and cool in the evening so bring a coat!

Weather

WEATHER IN SEPTEMBER

The weather remains hot and sunny in September even though summer is coming to an end. The average daily temperature in September ranges from 16-19°C (61-67bF), with the highest still a lovely 24-26°C (about 75-78°F), and the lowest temperature is only around 13°C (about 56°F). There’s an expected rainfall of 101mm over seven days of the month, so make sure to carry your umbrella if the forecast predicts rain. September is a great month to visit Croatia for weather warm enough for idling on the beaches and swimming in the sea, and for island hopping – without the summer crowds.
