Like any great college tale, ours began with beer. Specifically, Beer Olympics. Brought together by mutual friends, we paired up for beer-bobbing, chugging, flip cup, two-legged races, and maybe a little rule bending (we call it strategy). Thanks to this matchmaking magic, Oliver takes Angela to Myrtle Beach for formals. Soon after, we found ourselves headed to Myrtle Beach. Like a true gentleman, Oliver drove down with his friends and let Angela drive down by herself. Once we arrived, we were inseparable. Angela invited Oliver to join her for a walk to the shore to see the stars. Their conversation flowed effortlessly, stretching on for hours until they eventually made their way back to the Airbnb. Angela went to reconnect with her friends, but Oliver had other plans for them. He asked her to wait outside while he ran to the bathroom, hoping she wouldn’t rejoin her group just yet. Angela, caught off guard, waits as Oliver does his business. All he wanted was a little more time to talk with her. At the end of the night, it all made sense. Two island souls drawn together — Angela from Guam and Oliver from Hawai‘i (?) After the beach trip, we kept in touch, but it wasn’t until Oliver invited Angela to a party that things started to shift. Ran (Angela’s future maid of honor and ever-observant hype woman) couldn’t help but point out the obvious chemistry. That night, Angela finally asked the question that had been hanging in the air: “Why haven’t you asked me out yet?” The very next day, we went on our first official date, a mountain hike that quickly turned into borderline rock climbing. And yes, Ran came along, just to make sure Oliver was still charming in daylight. Eventually, Oliver asked Angela to be his girlfriend… not once, but twice. They say the second time’s the charm. From there, love blossomed. Angela even declared her love on macarons, which Oliver promptly ate without reading (….big back) And now, here we are—ready to celebrate the next adventure with all of you.
