7:00 pm - 9:30 pm
No particular attire is suggested, but you do need to register on the congregation's website as space is limited to allow for social distancing.
We are members of Chochmat Halev (https://chochmat.org/), a Jewish Renewal Congregation in Berkeley. Olga and I will be called up to light the Shabbat Candles at the beginning of the Service (7pm). During the Service, the congregation's spiritual leader, Zvika Krieger, will set intentions prior to various blessings related to the weekly Torah portion. The portion is about standing at the edge (of time and space) prior to embarking on a journey to an unknown land. After the Shabbat Service (~8:45p), there will be an Oneg (e.g. drinks, sweets, & mingling).
4:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Casual attire, but no shorts or flip-flops, please.
We value inclusivity, ease and fun. It is important that our wedding reflect our values. In an effort to include everyone's dietary needs, we're offering a tasty Morrocan menu. With the exception of grilled salmon, all dishes are vegan, celiac friendly, nut free and corn free, so it will be easy for you to serve yourself what you want without worry. For dessert, we'll have a fun selection of vegan, celiac friendly, sugar-free and nut-free offerings, each of which will be clearly labelled. It matters to us that each of you feel included, relaxed and has fun. Please choose "no restriction" if you have no food allergies.
