Question

Is there anything important I should know about a Catholic wedding mass?

Answer

A Catholic wedding is a witnessing of the sacrament of marriage, which the husband and wife to be bestow upon each other. Mass runs for about an hour. There will be three readings from the Bible, a homily (sermon) from the presiding priest, and an exchange of vows. There will be some songs and prayers in between the readings, and you may be asked to sit, stand, and kneel. Because this is a full mass, communion bread and wine will be given to Catholics. If you are not Catholic, please refrain from taking communion (it's not that tasty anyway).

Question

I know wedding attendees are required to be vaccinated, but if I have a child who is ineligible for the COVID vaccine or a booster, can they still come?

Answer

If your child is below 5 years of age by the wedding date they do not need to be vaccinated to attend. All children (and adults) over 5 years old must be fully vaccinated to attend.

Question

Will there be an open or cash bar?

Answer

This is an open bar wedding, so have fun, but don't get too crazy! Please arrange for a designated driver.

Question

Are dogs allowed at the ceremony or reception?

Answer

No, unfortunately our furry friends will need to stay behind for this event.

Question

I was also invited to the wedding in Anaheim. Where can I find information about that wedding?

Answer

Please visit theknot.com/okoromasonwedding for details on the Anaheim wedding. We look forward to seeing you!
